Are sender IDs available in every country?

A sender ID is the name or number that appears as the sender when your customer receives an SMS. Firepush supports two types of sender IDs.

Text sender ID

A text sender ID shows your brand name (e.g. "MyStore") instead of a phone number. This looks more professional and increases trust.

Requirements:

  • 3–16 characters
  • Letters, numbers, and basic characters (a-z, 0-9, -, &, #, !)

Note: Text sender IDs are only supported in certain countries. If the destination country does not support them, a phone number will be used instead.

Phone number sender ID

A phone number sender ID uses a real phone number as the sender. This is required in countries like the US and Canada. Phone number senders must be verified via an SMS code before they can be used.

Countries supporting text sender IDs

Australia, Cyprus, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom

For countries not listed above (including the US and Canada), a phone number will be used as the sender ID.

How to set up

You can manage your sender IDs in the Firepush dashboard under Settings. You can add multiple sender IDs and set one as the default. When creating a campaign or automation, you can choose which sender to use.
