SMS keyword replies (STOP, HELP, YES)

When customers receive your SMS messages, they can reply with certain keywords to manage their subscription. Firepush processes these replies automatically.

Unsubscribe keywords

If a customer replies with any of these keywords, they are immediately unsubscribed from your SMS messages:

  • STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE
  • French: ARRET

A confirmation message is sent automatically to let them know they have been unsubscribed. This is required by TCPA regulations.

Help keyword

If a customer replies HELP, INFO, or AIDE (French), they receive a message with your store information and support details.

Double opt-in confirmation

For markets that require double opt-in (such as Canadian short codes), customers confirm their subscription by replying with:

  • YES, Y, GO, OK, OKAY, K, SURE, YEP, YEAH

Good to know

  • Keyword processing is automatic — you do not need to take any action
  • Unsubscribes are applied per store — if a customer unsubscribes from your store, they may still receive SMS from other stores they subscribed to
  • Unsubscribed customers will not receive any further SMS from your Firepush account
  • Every SMS you send through Firepush automatically includes unsubscribe instructions, as required by TCPA compliance
