Delivery update SMS

Delivery update SMS messages keep your customers informed about their order status via text message. These are sent automatically based on events in your Shopify store.

SMS types

Firepush supports 3 delivery-related SMS automations:

  1. Order confirmation — sent when payment is accepted
  2. Order shipped — sent when the order is fulfilled/shipped
  3. Payment refund — sent when a refund is processed

Each type can be enabled or disabled independently in your dashboard.

How it works

Delivery SMS messages are fully automatic. When the order event occurs in Shopify, Firepush sends the SMS to the customer immediately. The customer must have SMS marketing consent and a valid phone number on their order.

Message personalization

Delivery SMS messages can include:

  • [name] — the customer's first name
  • [product] — the product name from the order
  • [price] — the order price
  • [order] — the order number
  • [refund] — the refund amount (refund SMS only)
  • [shop] — your store name
  • [redirectToURL] — a link to the order status page

How to set up

  1. Go to the SMS messages section in your Firepush dashboard
  2. Enable the delivery SMS automations you want to use
  3. Customize the message text for each type
  4. Save your settings — messages will start sending automatically

Tips

  • Delivery SMS messages build trust and reduce customer support inquiries
  • Include tracking links whenever possible
  • Use the countdown timer feature with a discount code to encourage repeat purchases
