Getting started

Does my store require HTTPS?

Yes, HTTPS is required for web push notifications to work. The good news is that all Shopify stores come with a free SSL certificate and HTTPS enabled by default, so no action is needed on your part.

HTTPS is required because web push notifications use Service Workers, a browser technology that only runs on secure (HTTPS) connections. This is a browser security requirement, not a Firepush limitation.

How to verify HTTPS is active

Visit your store in a browser and look for the padlock icon in the address bar. If you see it, HTTPS is active and Firepush will work correctly.

If you have any issues related to HTTPS or SSL on your store, refer to Shopify's SSL documentation.
