Welcome push notification

The welcome push notification is sent automatically to new subscribers right after they allow push notifications on your store. It is your first touchpoint with a new subscriber — a great opportunity to make a good impression and encourage a purchase.

How it works

1. A visitor arrives at your store and sees the push notification prompt (auto-prompt or sign-up box)
2. The visitor clicks Allow to subscribe
3. Firepush instantly sends a welcome push notification with your customized message

Welcome messages are only sent to new subscribers. If an existing subscriber revisits your store, they will not receive a duplicate welcome message.

Welcome push notifications support the [shop] variable to insert your store name into the message. Learn more about message variables

How to set up

1. Go to the Automations section in your Firepush dashboard
2. Enable the Welcome push notification
3. Customize the title, description, and icon
4. Save your settings

No additional configuration is needed — welcome notifications are triggered automatically by the embed script on your store.

Tips

• Use the welcome message to offer a discount code or free shipping to encourage a first purchase
• Add a countdown timer with a limited-time discount to drive urgency for first-time buyers
• Keep the message warm and on-brand
• Link the notification to a product page, new arrivals, or a special offer
